Rest
In the alpha Service · facts checked 2 November 2026
Rest is an Apothecary service you buy during an outing. It buys part of a day back, but only home restores you fully.
How it works#
- Cost: 2 Supply. It is cheaper than tuning or the calming visit (3), because it buys only part of a day.
- Effect: +2 endurance, never above 4.
- Once per outing. It is refused before you pay if you are at 4 or more, or have already rested: "The Apothecary cannot restore you any further; only home can."
- It changes no loadout. The Imprint, class, flex skill and provisions stay as you chose them at home.
- It is not the return's recovery step. That stays home rest or the Food Hall meal, never both.
History#
On 31 October the user approved rest stops at Starwell and the Quiet District Depot (+2, never above 4). On 1 November, reviewing an effects clip, the user said: "resting should be removed from Starwell, and moved to the Apothecary". There is no "Rest here" control at Starwell or along an outing any more.
Development#
Claude B built apothecaryRest and restAtApothecary. The lead's audit found that the alpha's world services still imported the old restAt, and that the Apothecary was missing. In the reconciled alpha, the Threadway Apothecary counter offers Rest, Tune and the calming visit. Each sale is recomputed against the host's ledger at the counter (threadway3d/vendor/shops/model.js).
