Quiet Handoff is the Imprint earned from Pip's side story, Someone Else's Shift. Pip is the keeper who learns that someone else can take the shift.
How it works#
- When you have paid for a Call (see Basic actions), the residents' answer arrives this round, not the next.
- Call stays paid, and it brings no extra helper.
- Your Care is 10% weaker.
- The story completes at step PIP6, "Someone else takes the shift". It needs a real absence with the keeper watch covered, never just the Relay post purchase.

No room uses Call yet, so Claude B's bots see only its cost.
Development#
The user approved the name on 31 October. The turn effect (promptCall) was built on 2 November and is in the alpha engine, but paid Call is not yet provisioned by the host. It replaced the old "Friend" keepsake, which brought a guest helper for one outing. The user ruled that an Imprint never lends a helper, because a helper before recruitment would make the game "too easy".
