Location verbs

In the alpha Skill · facts checked 2 November 2026

Location verbs are actions that each run location adds to the Basic actions. A room lists them; anywhere else the engine refuses them with "Not something you can do here." Companions never use them. They give each location its own main mechanic, as the user asked on 1 November.

Seal#

Vessel Margins · action · clip long-reach

Seal a leaky vessel wall in reach. It stays closed for this round and the next. Overstay: sealing the same wall three rounds in a row costs its astrocyte endfoot; the wall then leaks 1.5× faster and the bonus is lost.

Trim#

Quiet Tracts and the Tag Garden · action · clip engulf

Trim an input or a misplaced sheath in reach. A cut is final: there is no Undo after it, but Rewind still works. In the Tracts, trimming a misplaced sheath gives that sheath back to its oligodendrocyte. In the Tag Garden, you trim quiet inputs and keep active ones.

Process#

Quiet Tracts · action · clip recovery

Tend and Engulf put the debris you clear into your load, up to 3 clumps. When the load is full, Tend and Engulf are refused: "You can't take in any more: process what you're carrying first." Process empties the load.

Development#

Claude B built these engine verbs on 1 November, after the user approved the location pages. They are in the alpha engine and used by its Vessel Margins and Quiet Tracts rooms.
