Direct is the Coordinator's main skill. You point, and your companion goes and works there now.
How it works#
- Your companion gets an extra move and action this turn.
- It may act on any target it can path to, not only one within your reach.
- Without Direct, any class can give contact orders: at the start of the companion's turn, it may act only on a target within your reach, so you lead it.
Numbers#
| Modifier | Effect |
|---|---|
| Shared Turn upgrade | Direct gives two extra actions instead of one; Swap cooldown 3 → 5 |
The one-time preview#
Before any recruit, the plan's Act II scene II3 may offer one Direct-style order to Mote, once. It grants no class and no reward (see Coordinator).
Development#
- Legacy: Signal Beacon redirected idle helpers. Claude B measured it at +0.25 work bundles a use and replaced it with a companion and Direct.
- Kit v4: Direct could also calm flickers, steady residents and pass a send order on.
- Kit v5 (not approved before recruitment): Direct would relay requests to support cells at range. The user allows those ideas only after the Coordinator unlocks.
- Turn version: in the alpha engine. Claude B's bots do not drive companions, so Direct is not measured.
