The Stretch Between Neighbours
Approved Quest · facts checked 2 November 2026
The Stretch Between Neighbours is the short story of Cress. Cress has to cross the Quiet District to bring a neighbour an ordinary community record. Cress and Wick disagree about when a repaired stretch is safe to use. Both have a point.
Steps#
| Step | Title | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| C0 | A parcel that isn't medicine | Cress asks whether the Ranger is going the same way. The parcel is a fictional record, not a molecule or a treatment. Declining is fine. |
| C1 | A stretch is not a promise | Wick has closed a work site. Sometimes the repaired lane is safe and Wick is too careful. Sometimes it is truly blocked. The simulation decides. |
| C2 | The other side | Cress delivers the record. Completes the story. |
Reward#
A crossing note appears in the district. It updates when real repairs change the shortest path. When all five stretches are repaired, Cress may use the ridge shortcut. There is no Imprint, no recruit and no Supply.
Development#
- Approval: the user approved Cress as a new character on 31 October.
- Guest budget: Claude B's
GUEST_BUDGETgives Cress no room jobs. Cress walks their own route. - The story must complete without all five repairs and without Wick moving.
- In the alpha In the Placeholder alpha, Cress's sprite stands in the Quiet District. Step C0 needs scene III2, which is not reachable there.
