Cress
In the alpha Character · facts checked 2 November 2026
Cress is a microglial resident of the Quiet District. Cress has a practical reason to cross the district: a neighbour at the far end expects an ordinary record. Cress is not waiting for the Ranger.
Appearance#
Cress is a pale green cell with a raised head end and darker bands. The design must not suggest that "microglia always move fast".
Personality#
Cress can seem brisk because their messages are always half-finished. Cress and Wick have an old disagreement. Wick dislikes people crossing an unfinished section. Cress thinks Wick sometimes closes routes for too long. Both concerns are fair.
Role in the story#
In The Stretch Between Neighbours, Cress follows their own route across the district. Whether the repaired lane is safe depends on the real repair state, not on who argues best. When all five stretches are repaired, Cress may use the ridge shortcut.
Recruitment#
Never. Cress has no roster slot and does no room work; Cress only walks their own route.
Development#
- Approval: the user approved Cress as a new character on 31 October, and accepted identity B on 2 November.
- The eye touched the nucleus on Cress's top view; production frames trim one nucleus pixel to separate them.
- In the alpha In the Placeholder alpha, Cress's named sprite stands in the Quiet District. The side story needs scene III2, which is not reachable there.
