Bramble was the mentor microglia of an expedition tutorial that Claude A built on 29 October. Bramble was "an old resident microglia whose patch the ranger is taking over". The tutorial was removed on 30 October, and Bramble is not in the main game.
Role in the tutorial#
The tutorial had fourteen short lessons in five chapters, a coach and an opening quest chain. Bramble greeted the player, sent them to a practice grove and reacted to how the first expedition went.
“Ah, the new ranger. I am Bramble; this patch was mine.”
Why it was retired#
- The user confirmed that the tutorial was deleted on purpose (commit
7f3ccdc61, 30 October). - Plan v0.5 says that Pip and Mote carry the opening and that Bramble is "optional and not required". The plan does not want the story built as a mentor curriculum.
- The integrated design v2 (29 October) had already warned that Bramble and Bram were too similar in name for a lay audience. Bram, a border macrophage, stayed in the cast.
- Practice later moved to Memory Meadow, with its own lessons.
