Field gear is the one-use equipment that the Ranger buys at the Workshop before an outing. You carry it in a two-slot satchel. In a turn-based room, you can use one item as a bonus action, so it does not use up your main action. Any class can use field gear.
The items#
| Item | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Ward stake | 4 Supply | Wards one tile within 3 tiles for one round. |
| Survey ribbon | 2 Supply | Reveals hidden things within 3 tiles of you (2 in a striking round). |
Gear that you do not use stays in the satchel. Permanent Workshop tools are a different thing: you build each one once and fit one at a time.
Development#
- 1 November: the user ruled that the Apothecary deals only in signalling, so field gear moved from the Apothecary to the Workshop.
- In the alpha The lead reports that real gear use is connected in the alpha (
Placeholder69c7b54): a purchase is recomputed by the host and saved before the game shows it.
